The view was totally amazing and watching the sunset up that high overlooking the city was brilliant.

Theres 3 rides on the top of the stratosphere, one is a kind of chair swing where the swings face towards the ground and the swings are taken out over the edge of the building. The next one was a ride where you sit an a roller-coaster car and it tips you off the edge of the building really fast and you think your going down, great fun. And the last one was one of those rides that shoots you up a big pillar really fast and then you fall back down with your stomach turning. That was probably the best one, it was right on top and you could just see for miles.

Then on Saturday we went to see KA which was fucking amazing! I couldn’t do it justice in an explanation but the main feature that made it amazing was the stage, i cant even explain right now so you can wait until i get home and i can use my hands haha

On Sunday we didn’t do much apart from a a walk up and down the strip and through Caesars Palace and the Venetian. Caesars Palace was as you would imagine with roman statues and stuff and the Venetian actually had a river through the hotel that you can take a gondola ride on which was cool.

The last couple of days me and my dad have been playing craps in the casino which is really good fun. Takes a little bit to learn but once you’ve got it its definitely the best thing to play in the casino. Your money lasts longer than things like roulette and as long as your gambling the waitresses come around and give you free drinks and you just tip $1 to keep them coming back, so plenty of Captain Morgan for free which is good.

Took a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon which was amazing! We landed inside the canyon for about half an hour and were given a champagne picnic. The helicopter pilot gave us the option of stopping at a place with about 5 other choppers or a secluded spot so we chose secluded and he just lands on a random bit of flat canyon and we had the whole place to ourselves.

I also went to this thing called the CSI experience before the canyon where you see a mock crime scene and have to note things then go to a lab and solve the case. Wasn’t very good i thought it would have been better but it would probably be right up your street Emma lol

Back in San Diego now for the final time. The hotel were in is really nice and I think were going to San Diego Zoo tomorrow so an annoying amount of animal pictures will be coming your way soon probably

Flying into Vegas was probably the single most amazing site I have ever seen, flew through the mountains, which just look like massive rocks lodges in the ground and as you get further you come into the basin which is completely flat you fly past the strip and can see everything, amazing.

My dads came over for a few days since he loves Vegas and were staying in the MGM and the room is brilliant. You could swim in the bath which is a jacussi as well and you could probably do laps around the shower, oh and theres a TV and a phone in there too. Two big double beds and plasma with surround sound and a balcony that looks down over the strip, such a nice room.

We went a walk down the strip today but I didn’t get any pictures because my camera battery was dead, no doubt will get some good ones over the next few days though.

Going to go a helicopter trip around the Grand Canyon over the next few days which will be amazing then on Saturday night going to a show at Cirque Du Soliea called KA which looks totally amazing as well.

The great thing is im not even paying for any of it thats the upside right there of having your dad visit.

So on Monday night we went to Pacific Beach in San Diego which is about a $15 taxi ride away from ocean beach where the hostel was and it has more bars and clubs and stuff. We were out until about 5 in the morning and then our flight was at 9 so only got a couple of hours sleep.

We arrived in San Francisco the next morning and just spent most of the day chilling out in the hostel due to the night before. The next 3 nights we moved to a cheap hotel because the hostels were booked up since we left it so late. The hotel looked like we had been transported back to the 1950′s and it was also next door to a strip joint in a dodgy neighbourhood lol It was cheap though and we had no trouble.

On Wednesday we done some major sightseeing… We rented bikes at about 12 in the afternoon and cycled all the way from Fishermans Wharf to Muir Woods and back (look it up on google maps). In total the distance was roughly 60km give or take a km. I think thats pretty much from mine into town and back… twice!

We got really lucky as that turned out to be the only day that wasn’t foggy so when we were going over the Golden Gate Bridge on the bikes everything was visible. A couple of us ended u getting sunburn on the top of our hands because they were constantly sitting on the handle bars getting sun haha

The reason we cycled all the way up there was that in Muir Woods they have some of the tallest trees in the world which was so cool. The cycle was so hard at times though with the size of some of the hills but it was worth it. We got back after 10 hours cycling, including an hour or so in the national park. The cycle back was a bit sketchy since it was in the dark and there were no lights on most of the roads and we had no lights on the bikes, brilliant though.

I thought my legs were going to be killing me the next day but they were surprisingly ok, the only thing that was really sore was my butt cheeks haha

I took so many photos that day im still trying to process them but here are a couple and the rest will go up on flickr eventually.

The next day we went for lunch (I have been putting away in and out burgers like nothing else shota haha) and then randomly ran into one of the guys im withs friend who was working in a bike shop. He asked us if we wanted to take out some bikes for free and because they were free we couldn’t say no. So we ended up doing another 20km that day as well, but after we had seen stuff we couldn’t bare the cycle home and got the bus with the bikes haha

Then on Friday we went to Alcatraz which was superb, it was so cool and the audio tour inside the prison is narrated by old prisoners and guards. They tell loads of stories including the escape and the battle of Alcatraz and show you were it all happened and the marks that have been left, was a brilliant trip.

Im currently writing this inside San Fran airport waiting to go back to San Diego. Today we went and seen Toy Story 3 in the cinema to kill time before the flight after checking out and it was awesome, such a good film.

Im only back in San Diego for 3-4 days then off to Vegas so hopefully have more exciting stuff happening soon.

Ive actually ended up posting this a day later because I couldn’t get internet. The hostel was fully booked when we got back and so we had to wait until the next day to get a room. One of the girls that works here let us stay at her apartment though so it was all good.

So im going to be back and then off again pretty much straight away. So keep a day or night free so I can see you guys from the 8th of september which is a wed until I have to leave probably on the sunday.

Pretty shit but anyway, trip wise im going to San Fran tomorrow with 3 guys from the hostel and we have booked alcatraz for the friday afternoon. It must be pretty good because it sells out a couple of weeks in advance so looking forward to that.

We wanted to take a trip up to Yosemite National Park but I dont know if we are going to be able to in the time since we arent renting a car but I would love to go, looks amazing.

Im quite surprised that the only person ive really spoke to whilst ive been away has been Becky, If it wasnt for her I would have been really homesick probably but we have had really good chat and if I wasnt travelling all over the place I wanted her to come out too. So thanks Becky it has meant something I appreciate it x.

Missing Ella, Callum and Emma, and obviously Queeny Alyson and Stuuu and Shota in no particular order, but im surprised Stuu hasnt sent me a message at all if he is reading this.

Going to San Francisco on Tuesday for about 4-5 days then back here before I go to Vegas for a week.

I Chilled out at the beach then went a walk up the pier with my camera to try and get some photos of the beach and people surfing. Was quite unsuccessful though, I probably stood for about 45 mins waiting to get a good shot of someone surfing but I must have chose the exact wrong moment since the waves died down a bit and no-one was really catching any. Good fun still though and I’ll give it another crack in a couple of days probably.

The day after a few of us went and played tennis for a few hours which was really good, getting a bit of exercise in the sun. You pay $5 and get as long as you want so its cheap too.

Just the usual at night which is drink in the hostel playing beer pong and guitar hero then all go to a bar afterwards. Having a rest tonight though because I had to get up early to check back into the hostel since I was only booked up until today. Got changed room and this one might suck a little bit because it has massive windows and will be mega bright come morning, wait and see what happens. So I booked another 4 nights here then a few of us are thinking about going up to San Francisco for a change of pace and see some other stuff.

Still things I want to do here as well though like surf, the zoo and maybe sea world but i’ve still got plenty of time so no rush really.

You get a party bus with a big sound system inside that takes you to the border, think it took about 50 mins or something. The tunes were pretty crap obviously but they played a couple of good ones like devotion by bingo players and some boys noize.

Then when you get to the border its a $5 taxi to the club and its an open bar all night. Fuck knows what they put in these drinks but everyone was majorly hungover yesterday. And I have a nice lump on my head from when some girl pulled me down with her and I cracked my head on a steel girder.

They probably put like roofys or something in everyones drinks, no memory of even coming home from Mexico which is a bit dodgy, just as well there was a big group of us or it would have been sketchy. I would have thought I would remember coming through border patrol to get back into the US but I have no recollection at all.

Really weird going into a different country for like 5-6 hours to party then going back. Its so close but just really different to here.

I obviously didn’t get any pictures because there was no way I was taking my camera.

Not plucked up the courage to go try surfing yet, i’m just being lazy right now.

Met a load of good people already and the sun finally came out after a couple days and there was an amazing sunset the other day. I tried to get some photos but I suck at taking pictures of sunsets, i’ve tried before as well and failed.

A load of us are going to go to Mexico on wednesday I think, well thats the plan just now anyway so i’ll let you know how that goes and if I get robbed by some banditos or not. Hopefully nothing happens to my passport and I get stuck there.

It was weird arriving in San Diego airport, I remembered everything straight away from last year and I was only there for a couple of hours. Staying in the same hostel as last year right now and a few people remembered me as well which was cool. Pretty cold here just now for San Diego and its just constantly overcast. Meant to have been like this for ages now so I dont even know if im going to get any sunshine here! Still nice and chilled out though just sitting at the beach and watching people surf.

Got accommodation booked here until the 7th then I dont know if im going to move about a bit more or just stay here until Vegas which is on the 24th, wait and see depending on the weather and people I meet.

We went back to the hostel after that via a little walk past Central Park and got Lawrence and another girl we met called Sophie and went out for dinner… to Hooters haha Got to go for the experience. Then we just came back to the hostel and had a few drinks.

Still need to go up the Empire State Building so maybe do that later today or tomorrow and then I will have seen most of the things I wanted to in NY apart from maybe some museums and stuff.

Oh yeh and I’ll probably go and see a show on broadway one night if we can manage to get cheap tickets. The Addams Family could be good?
